Launch of the first Franco-Surinamese Automatic Turbidity Monitoring Station at Grand Santi
The first automatic turbidity monitoring station run by France and Suriname was installed in the municipality of Grand Santi on 18 February 2025!
Evolution of the turbidity of rivers affect the life and health of the people living by the river. It is also an indicator of pressure on the resource.
This station, located downstream of the confluence of the Tapanahony and the Lawa, demonstrates the desire for joint monitoring between France and Suriname.
