The BIO-PLATEAUX team took part in the 4th DYAGA International Seminar and in the OHM, a major event for research on cross-border dynamics between French Guiana and Amapa State.
On 26 and 27 November 2025, the 4th DYAGA International Seminar – Dynamics of the circulation of goods, people, and territorial planning in the Guiana region – was held in Oiapoque. This event brought together researchers, institutions, and students from Brazil, France, Suriname, and the Republic of Guyana. Led by the POTEDES research group of the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP), this seminar has been, since 2019, a scientific opportunity for analyzing the socio-territorial issues of the Guianas.
This edition, organized in coordination with the Observatoire Hommes-Milieux (OHM Oyapock), made it possible to address central themes for the future of the region: circulation of goods and people, biodiversity, sustainable food systems, territorial planning, and water resource management, with particular attention given to Franco-Brazilian cross-border dynamics.
An event structured around three pillars
The DYAGA 2025 seminar was organized around:
Thematic panels bringing together specialists of the Guianas to discuss issues of borders, mobility, biodiversity, and territorial management;
Minicourses designed for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students;
Research presentations highlighting the diversity and complexity of regional dynamics.
The active participation of the BIO-PLATEAUX project
The BIO-PLATEAUX project team, funded by the European Union and the INTERREG Amazonia programme, contributed to the seminar through several presentations dedicated to water resources and aquatic biodiversity in the transboundary basins of the Maroni and the Oyapock.
