Conclusions of the second BIO-PLATEAUX Steering Committee, 8th September 2020

Tuesday 8 September 2020, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. the second Steering Committee (COPIL) of the BIO-PLATEAUX project took place, through video-conference. The International Office for Water (IOWater), the French Guiana Water Office (OEG), The Anton de Kom University (AdeKUS) and the Amapa Agency supported this event.

More than thirty representatives from French Guiana, Suriname and Amapa State institutions participated, including:

·         Mrs. Hélène SIRDER, 1st Vice-President of “Collectivité Territoriale de Guyane”,

·         Mr. Riad NURMOHAMED, Minister of Public Works of Suriname,

·         Mrs. Tânia Do Socorro Barosso, President and Director of the Economic Development Agency of the State of Amapa,

·         Mr. Jean-Bernard Nilam, Ambassador Delegate for Regional Cooperation Antilles-French Guiana,

·         Ms. Anne Suard, Diplomatic Advisor to the Prefet of French Guiana,

·         Mr Antoine Joly, Ambassador of France to Suriname,

·         Mrs Genia Lank-Corinde, Consul General of Suriname in French Guiana,

·         Mr. Manoel Gomez-Perreira, Consul General of Brazil in French Guiana.

Participants analyzed the advances of the implementation of the Cayenne statement signed during the BIO-PLATEAUX Conference of November 26, 2019. They reviewed all the products prepared since the Conference and the activities of the animation network. The Steering committee also validated the roadmap that had been prepared by the transboundary technical working groups of July 2020.

The participants also agreed on the objectives and priority topics to be deployed in the BIO-PLATEAUX web platform under development.
