The last Steering Committee of BIO-PLATEAUX – Phase I was held on April 29, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in videoconference between Cayenne, Macapa and Paramaribo. With three main objectives:
- Close phase I with presentation of the results and products
- Prepare phase II of the BIO-PLATEAUX project
- Launch the prefiguration process of the future Transboundary Observatory
In presence of Guyanese, Surinamese and Amapa authorities, the technical partners of the three territories presented the results of Phase I of the initiative, and their strategy for Phase II.
Then the Amapa Agency, the Anton de Kom University, the French Guiana Water Office and the International Office for Water signed a declaration formalizing the kick-off to the prefiguration of the transboundary Observatory on water and biodiversity, a preparatory process that will be realized until 2025.
